Referring to former Justice Sandra Day O’Connor’s saying that “a wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases,” Sotomayor said, “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
Now you tell me if that is racist or not.
Then color should play a part in the decision making of who deserves what, then??

That doesn’t sound racist.
racist!
A women of color? The women is white. Her skin color is the same as mine. Most Latino ppl are white. I don’t care one way or the other what color her skin is. I’m getting a bit tired of ppl getting positions based on their color. Didn’t they see how destructive that was in the past?

Well, it is a weird way of saying it, but the point she was making is that your life experience does impact the decisions you make. For Sotomayor as a latina the same as for the old white guys who have traditionally populated the court. If she thinks her experience causes her to make better decisions, what’s wrong with that? I can assure you that the old white guys also think that their decisions are best. I think people react to the “nerve of a woman, especially a woman of color, to think that her decisions would be better than a white man’s”

Mr. JR. “Most” latino ppl are white? This isn’t really a color chart, it is based on ethnicity and origin. Non-hispanic white are generically called white, while “hispanic-white” are generally considered minority or “people of color.” She didn’t get the position based on her color. She graduated with honor from Princeton University then went on to graduate from Yale Law school. These are considered teh best schools in the US,so you ought to stop listening to the idiots on talk radio and educate yourself on the subject.
Just because you disagree does not mean you have to show your ignorance by putting others down. If you want to believe what you just wrote, well then go ahead. But, I disagree when you say that radio talk show host are idiots. I sense jealousy on your part that you missed the chance in having your voice heard. Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter are two of my favorite ppl. Does that give you a clue where my views lie. lol.

Everyone can listen to anyone they want to, but it is incumbent on the listener to take some responsibility and look up the facts. If the entertainer says S she got her position just because she is a latina, then you have to ask yourself what qualifications she has and find out for yourself. Princeton, Yale law, and her years on the federal bench are pretty compelling qualifications.
Great, she went to Yale and Princeton! I would have been more impressed if she went to UCLA also, but I am not denying the fact that she is well educated. What I’m saying, and I’m sticking to it, is she was elected because of her race. Obama elected her for that reason and by doing so he gave thanks to all the Latino ppl who voted for him. What he is doing is spreading the wealth, which is fine, but I believe ppl should be elected to post based on their character and not solely on education. I can have the same degrees that she has, but what good will it do for the ppl if I despise another race or gender? There are a lot of smart ppl out there and some are sneakingly evil. Do you understand what I’m saying? We need to focus on character, past and present and in between and not on how much education, money or popularity a person has. Thank you for listening.
This is what all the fuss is about. Not her diplomas hanging on the wall.
