Should I do something?
I am working in a temporary little sales booth for 10 days. However, I am getting really annoyed with my colleagues. There are 2 of them. 1 of them is very condescending and I know she looks down on me. She makes jokes about my weight(she’s the skinny and lanky type) and replies with sarcastic remarks when I am trying to lighten up the atmosphere, then think her remarks are wildy hilarious. She also looks down on others(including me) because I do not own or wear quality clothing and bags like she does. The other colleague is always hogging the easier job and stays put without helping me when it’s really busy. She just stays at that area and talks to the cashier/on her phone/text messages/talks to her friend. And they like to gather in a bunch and talk together, laughing and talking loudly while I am left alone with 8-9 customers. They also go over to other sales booths and pretend to be ‘busy’, leaving me alone again. And flirt and laugh loudly with other male sales staff.
I am really annoyed but I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to talk to management because they know it’ll be me and it’s only a 10 day stint. I just don’t want to be openly angry at them. I want to just get this over and done with while talking as little to them as possible. Ok, I just want to keep it professional. But I’m so upset right now. It feels so unjustified. Just because they’re skinnier and prettier doesn’t mean they can get away with everything and by doing a lousy, half-hearted job. I give 100% everyday and I am left with upset feelings.
Give me some advice/encouragement please…:’(
