Does anybody feel like they’re looking for something only you have no idea what it is?

I think more a feeling of missing something and not knowing what it is, rather than looking for something but not knowing what it is.
For me it’s definitely a feel of chasing something. But it’s distant and like a rainbow in the respect that you can never run up to it, get close to it.
It never gets closer and if you do go stand where you thought you saw it, it disappears.
And I don’t even know what it is.
That’s what it’s like for me anyway.
Yes, well, that’s life. It can take your entire existence to figure out what exactly it is you were and are looking for, and you may die with or without it, but it’s what you find along the way that makes all the difference, hm?

That’s exactly how it is. It seems that you find what you really need when you stop looking for what you want.

ha ha I suppose. That’s an optimistic way of looking at it, I like it.

It’s definitely an empty sort of feeling, like a void.

I’ve only felt a particular emptiness after I knew what it was like to feel truly happy.

If you don’t mind my asking, what was the cause of your true happiness?
Meeting someone I thought would keep their promises. Someone I thought I’d hold on longer than I did. Someone I felt happy just to be around, never annoyed or too tired to talk with them. Having a reason to actually get out of bed every day– just to see them. Someone who I could look back on and not have regrets about meeting. Someone who wouldn’t forget me no matter how long we’d be apart.
I had had a friend once.
But that was a very long time ago.
Thats how life is for me…
In search of the unobtainable and no idea what it is …
Im guessing its peace and happiness, but they are elusive and relative…

Change is the only thing one can really rely on. I learned this a year ago. I also had a friend once.

Yes, I’m currently at my ninth school. I am no stranger to change. Just thought the powers that be would’ve let me keep something from my past this time. How foolish I was back then. When I believed you could love someone hard enough for it not to matter.
Don’t listen to me, I’m just some bitter old man. The only post you should read in this thread is my first one.
