Media player web browser plug-ins won’t work.

Media player plug-ins (Quicktime & Windows Media Player) GUI doesn’t show up in any of my web browsers. I’ve tried reinstalling them and even trying tutorials like this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Quicktime to try and get a fresh version but nothing works. Can anyone help me?
