Your trouble is anxiety. Shyness is just feeling anxious about being rejected by other people. You’re not anti-social, you’re just anxious about being rejected. You’re so focused on yourself and your speech impediment that you don’t think about anyone else. That’s the problem. Your speech impediment does NOT hold you back. What holds you back is being stuck in your own head worried about what people think about you.

The way out is to focus on other people. Make fun of yourself. Make a joke about your speech impediment. Focus on them and make them feel comfortable with you. Ask about them. Listen to what they say. Smile a lot. Always be the first to smile and introduce yourself.

It’s all about confidence and humour. Your speech impediment is not the problem.

I don’t know anything about the drug. Drugs only dull feelings. They don’t change your behaviour. If you keep acting and thinking the same way, you’ll just have to keep raising your dose of drugs to compensate.

The key is to change your thinking and behaviour. Then you won’t need drugs.

these drugss work differently for everyone, I was on sertraline paroxetine, and it made the anxiety worse, but paroxetine does not, you should not be asking on the internet for help. You need something for YOU. you might have to try a few things before anything works though.
I hate to be one of those ‘just see a doctor’ posts, but you should find a doctor you trust and just talk about it.
anyway just my thoughts….
