god help: Every one should understand about God from my last post. - Help.com

Every one should understand about God from my last post.

We always praying God, because we need help. If we get positive result, then we going to believe god. If we get negative result, we wont.

In my point of view, every one will be a God. The one who helps the other person, he will be a God. The one who kills the other person or the one who has bad mind, he will be a evil.

So try to help other person. You also God for some one.

So help me, I want to learn English.

Your better off with a computer program to teach you English, rather than someone here trying to help. If you are going to be taught by someone it might also help if they speak the same language as you also.

Ravi, god is not about what makes you feel good or getting results of any sort,
if you believe in a god you would do so at any circumstances.

people need belief to keep their life going even when things are bad.
it is the hope that we are guided or effected by something greater than us,
that if we act in a certain way our life will get better.
it also serves to settle down with bad things in life, by looking at it as punishment for bad behavior, or merely a way of the god to teach us something, or to lead us or others in a certain direction by means we believe are not to be judged.

for example, you can’t believe that your friend is a god,
but you could believe that your god have sent him to you.

you just have something against me don’t you?
you haven’t even read it properly
i was talking about why people believe in gods, any gods.
wasn’t at all talking about myself.

and how does that help Ravi that you simply state your disagreement?
such statements just reveal your intolerance,
and your words are empty if you can’t back them with your own ideas and view.
so please, spare this community of such statements in the future.

I disagree that people need any belief beyond the faith that what our senses tell us is correct (when not on shrooms or LSD). I have no religion, and haven’t really believed in any of the multitude I’ve tried/studied since I was eight.

Religion tells people things they want to hear, while manipulating them to do as they’re told. This isn’t just my opinion, though. If you look back at history, this has always been true. There is no evidence to the contrary, only disbelief on the part of people offended by this information, which is fueled by their unwillingness to actually open a few books and read about the history of their own beliefs.

I’ll give an example. Many Christians believe in Noah’s Flood. I will, for the sake of this example, assume everyone knows the story of this. But not many have read the Epic of Gilgamesh. This is the oldest recorded fictional story ever written down. It comes to us from Ancient Sumeria, and was originally written on 12 clay tablets in cunieform script. It is about the adventures of the historical King of Uruk (somewhere between 2750 and 2500 BCE).

In this story, Gilgamesh is told by the gods to build a boat, because a storm is coming. He gathers two of each animal, and puts them on the boat. It rains for… can you guess? Forty days and forty nights. When the rain stops, he sends out a raven, which does not come back. Then, he sends out a dove which returns with an olive branch. It’s the same story. It was added to the Bible, like most of the other stories, when few people could read, and even fewer had any access to other such stories. The only reason it hasn’t become a larger influence is that people who believe something will go to any lengths possible to refuse to acknowledge any opposing viewpoint.

After all, no one likes being wrong.

Not really. It’s just a topic I’ve come to understand a lot about. I’ve read most holy books, many more than once. I’ve participated in and studied most religions. History has been a source of fascination for me since kindergarten. If you learn enough about each of these, you see the same things as anyone else.
