help please: Any mechanics/autobody people on here?

I am having work done on a vehicle - the bumper cover is being replaced but the reinforcer behind it is fine. The headlight needs to be replaced and the fender is being replaced … NO other work is being done.

Heres my dilemma the one shop i took it to is trying to charge me 1100 dollars of labor - i got all the parts aftermarket for 158 bucks …

I just think thats unreasonable - any KNOWLEDGEABLE opinions?

ask them their charge out rate - that will tell you how long they are going to take.

also go and ask other repair shops around (use the phonebook/internet to find some) and ask them rates etc to compare

well - i’ve replaced my own bumper completely once, and headlamps, and it took me just over a morning, and i have no idea what i’m doing… (this was on a old car mind)

hopefully someone else has a better idea :)

haha yeah i wish i could do it myself .. im away on business .. and it just needs to get done. otherwise i would get down and dirty like you did haha.
