i have a mother whose like that, she tries to pull me down because of her own personal reasons. u do have a choice whether to accept allow him to get to you or not.

Maybe he is just trying to push you by discouraging you so you try harder? My dad is like that. He is always comparing me to my friends and saying how they have good grades (when they really dont) and telling me about al these success stories. It really gets on my nerves sometimes
