hahaha i can top you…. im 22 and havent rode a bike… i also dont have a drivers license to drive a car.

My guess it that its not as hard as a kid learning because your balance has been well developed and i wouldnt expect you to fall a lot or anything.

eh, well dispite what people say, i wouldent advise trying to ride in public, just try sitting on it against a wall, then push slowly off along the wall still going parallel.

the perpetual motion is what keeps you upright more than balancing. But if you can blanace still thats useful too still.

well yeah i’m just saying going at any speed at first is a bit daunting, but of course if they have the courage to start off with speed it will be hell of a lot easier.

perpetual motion doesnt exist . .. that we know of yet what you mean to say i think is the gyroscopic effect. . . so to retain any type of balance, you raelly need to be going some type of speed. . .
get kneepads and a helmet.
and a leatehr jacket.
and insurance. medical life dental and accident types.

as for the bike it doesnt matter so much but being 19 i wouldnt try training wheels, theyll look sillier than the bumps and bruises you may get.

I was close enough with the word lol I just wasnt thinking of the right word since its not common of me to use physics terminology.

Come to think of it, theres more than one type of bicycle and each kind rides differently a little bit. I could be wrong though. Its just a BMX is totally different than a racing bike for example.

For me it was kind of a fear also but not of the act of driving but other things and also the expenses. I thought it would be better to use other modes to get more exersize anyways.

Its kind of funny because i have a helmet and kneepads but no bike yet.
Why do i need a leather jacket for?
I have insurance, so thats good.
My neighboor said i should use training wheels to start of with but i guess bumps and bruises do sound better than being laughd at.

if it was mine though, id put one of those big springy widebutted seats on it. those things are so comfortable for coasting. anyway gl :)

oh yeah, and itd probably be easier to stand up on it, both feet on the pedals, hand on the bars as you slowly start to move down a long gradual incline.
keep the front wheel straight, and use your body to counterbalance any tendency to lean too far in one direction. eventually youll get the hang of it and be able to keep the bike verticle all the time.
if you get too much speed, use the BACK wheel brakes first. because if you are going too fast and stop the front wheel you could flip over and smash your melon. youd have to be going pretty fast though.

anyway once you are comfortable gliding down the incline, start walking the pedals. once youve turned the crankshaft half a turn (more quickly than the wheels are actually turning) youll notice you are giving yourself more power.
if youre comfortable with that, or have faith in your protective gear, crank the crap out of it.
alright now try to “jump” while pulling the handlebars straight into the air, dont be afraid to get off the pedals and land on the ground if your lucky, youll pop wheelie, if you arent lucky, youll land on your feet whith the bike trying to soar over the top of your head as you hang on to it, and if youre really unlucky, youll bust your bottom. (you may need to run a couple steps to keep from eating the seat if you do bail off the pedals)
:-D

I got really great news, I’ve finally conquered my fear of riding a bike, I can finally say that I know how to ride a bike. I still can’t pedal up inclines that much because of the gear changes you have to make but i can finally ride a bike without falling off. I still can’t stand up and pedal but i’ll get their eventually, all i can say is that my butt hurts and my legs are killing me but i can finally ride a bike.

Yay! lol

get a new seat for it then and dont over do the riding because those seats can make you sterile using them too much.
