I’m not going to lie, things are worse.

I tried to get out of the habit of cutting and exercising, but it’s just come back. The cutting is getting deeper, but I think I can say the exercise is as under control as it is going to be. But the cutting … it scares me how much I want it now, how much I need it. I thought it was bad before but it was nothing compared to this.

I don’t know why I feel like this, it’s like … I was on holiday, I was in a different environment and just got away from everything, but now I’ve come back, it’s making me feel worse and I screwed up at least one of my exams and uni application stuff is coming up and there’s just so much I should be doing and I’m not, and what I am doing I’m making a mess of. Just seems that I can’t do anything right and the tiniest things are getting to me now. Cutting seems like my only option to survive.

You need to try and take your mind off cutting. Think about what you are going to get when you actually pass your exams and complete your Uni application. Maybe you could try something other than cutting when you feel stressed - something you enjoy doing.

Aside from the cutting, is there any specific that seems to be making you feel depressed?

That’s the thing, I need the grades to get into uni first, and I don’t think I can get the grades that want me to get. I have tried, but my mind always, without fail, turns to cutting now. It’s part of me, I can’t escape it.

Anything making me feel depressed … I don’t know … just school in general, parents, friends … just the normal stuff really

Those sort of things get to everybody and you’ve just got to try and not let them get to you. I know it’s hard to do, but you’ve just got to try and forget about cutting. Try doing something other than cutting whenever you feel stressed. Experiment with different but harmless activities.

As for your grades, that is something you’ve just got to work at. If you want to get into Uni, then you need to work at your studies.

You want to become a better person, bookworm. You do because otherwise you wouldn’t be asking for help. Think of the person who you want to be and fight to be that person.

I think for me it might be impossible. It’s not that I haven’t tried, I’m just not feeling or getting any better. Either I’m not trying hard enough or it’s impossible. Since I feel I’ve tried as hard as I possibly can, it’s impossible.

It’s never impossible, bookworm! You just need to try and find another way around your problem.

The cutting problem cannot be solved until you find out what it is that is actually making you depressed. Maybe you need to try spending a couple of hours away from the things that are bothering you, be a bit introspective and find out why you are feeling the way you are. You’re the only person that do that.

I know I’m the only person who can do that, but when I do I get frustrated that I can’t figure it out and it just makes me feel worse. It’s easier to just carry on and distract myself.

There isn’t anything wrong with that until you figure out whats wrong to begin with. Its a long road but you’ll find where you need to go hun. Just takes time and LOT of trial and errors. One day things won’t be like this dear just keep moving forward as much as you can. One step at a time. Has those people gotten ahold of you yet?

GAHHHH whats holding them up!!! Is there any way your parents could call and see whats taking them so gosh darn long? I mean they have to be seeing that your feeling so badly, or have you been hiding it pretty well? What have you been doing when you feel like cutting? anything able to distract you and get ur mind somewhere else?

I don’t know what’s holding them up! My parents think I’m coping ok so they won’t ring, I’ve had a lot of practice of hiding how I feel. Mainly when I feel like cutting I’ve just been cutting, but yesterday I really tried not to. I’d had a dream that night which I thought would be good for a story so whenever I felt like cutting I tried to remember the dream and write down a bit more until I didn’t want to cut anymore.

Good for you hun! Keep doing that then!! Sounds like this might work for you. :D I mean at least until these people get their behinds in gear and call you up! Would it be possible for you to mention to your parents about it? Like just saying that ur curious about this place and want to get it done with? IDK. Just a suggestion. What kinda story are you writting? Hopefully you’ve found something that works AND that ur good at! Kinda a two for one deal :)

Yeah, but they have other people to look after and help too, so they’re going to take some time getting back to me.
I don’t know whether I can say I’m feeling better … exercise went way up yesterday and now I hurt today, and cutting was about normal. Somethings got to give, I’m so exhausted!

What about talking to someone about it like in the flesh someone who knows you and cares about you? To get things off ur mind/chest and to give you hands on support! To tell your parents that things aren’t the way they seem and that it IS getting worse! I think the job thing is a good start however, to get you out of the house and out in the community. Perhaps to see things a little bit differently. HOw did that go btw?

I can’t tell my parents things aren’t ok, I just don’t talk to them about this and I don’t particularly want to start to.

Today hasn’t been so bad really, just a lot of sitting about doing nothing when I should be revising for my exam tomorrow :S
Cricket is only on a Thursday, so using cricket would only work then. My sister has been going down to her room a lot recently, so I can’t really spend time with her either. Reading works sometimes and unfortuantely, for shopping you need money … which I don’t have.

I do bake sometimes … I just end up eating what I bake … then I feel bad. I can’t go on walks with her all the time, and she’s everybody elses puppy too, I can’t keep her all to myself! Haha, I do play the game, but it’s in real time and things take about 48 hours to build.

Ok,more things u could do… how about taking up origami? It’ll keep ur hands busy at least? Its kinda neat. OR painting? I just started buying like random things like pots and vases and just paint them differntly and its kinda fun and theraputic LOL. Ummmmmm….learning another language? There are so many to choose from! One is bound to come in handy sometime LOL.

Haha, origami is hard! Haha, my mum wouldn’t be happy about painting either … I’m not a very tidy person :P. School should keep me occupied for a while now anyway.
