Is it ok or ideal to go swimming/snorkeling in a wetsuit while on your period?

My periods are usually very heavy and I have to wear a pad and tampon but my husband and I are going to the virgin islands for our one year anniversary and I want to have a good time while being down there. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and it would be great to have fun and be able to participate in the activities at our resort. Thanks for your help and info. Stephanie

of corse you can!
i am usally quite heavy in my peroid, and wear a tampon when i go surfing. use the super ones and keep your eye on the time… change it every 4ish hours. i dont advise using a pad in a wetsuit though.

I’d change it more frequently than every 4 hours if you’re swimming. Though when I go on holiday I find it better to carry on with the pill so I don’t get a period at all. Are you on the pill?
