So I got the The Sims 3…

I have had it pre ordered since december, so I am pumped to have it. I put it on the computer though, and it runs very slow, because I only have 1G left on my computer now…and I have cleaned out my whole computer almost. I am getting an external hardrive of 500G today (from a friend) and I am hoping that it will run better, and not as slow….any info for me about if itll work or not? The game takes up nearly 6G, and of course needs some extra space…so you think this external drive will help? My figures are crossed because this game is incredible.

How much RAM do you have? What motherboard and chip are you using?

The game is so much better than the second, more possibilities, and I do know it runs on mac…lol.

1G of ram left, but idk how to find out what mother board and chip I am using, I know I have a Dell laptop running with Windos Vista Basic, and there is a random sticker that says “Intel Celeron inside” lol.

*cringe* dell sucks, sorry to tell you. I’d try putting in more RAM. To find out what motherboard and chip just go to system information (usually Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools)

I doubt it to be fair. It’s more RAM you need not space.

Processing power, memory, and video cards play mostly the main part in how a video game is played. The standard pretty much now is a Pentium 2GHz Core 2 Duo, 1GB of RAM, and a decent video (which can be had for fairly cheap, something like a nVidia 9600GT).

Sad to hear its going slow…
But the requirements say 1,5GB RAM…
So Im guessing thats your prob
The game min specs are below:
Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

these specs are for vista…

I guess youll have to wait for your mac, but then the PC vesion of the game dosent work on the mac if Im correct…
Sorry for the bad news…
Nice to see you here after such a long time…
Hope all else is well
