rant again…

okay so now my mom doesn’t want me carrying my own passport because she is convinced i will lose it.
but in fourth grade i went on a trip to australia.
without my parents.
and i didn’t lose it.
so now, six years later, she still doesn’t want me carrying it.
why?
why is she so protective?
she doesn’t want me listening to parental advisory cds, going to r rated movies with my DAD, or carrying my own passport.
its soo frustrating

I’m 24 and my mom is STILL like that. I have a child of my own now and I understand… it is just because she loves you. My dad had a motto that made a lot of sense, “You are always gonna love your kid, but you want to raise them so that others can love and respect them too.” She’s protective b/c it’s maternal instinct.

i say, talk to her one on one. when ever my mom gets like that i end up having an argument with her there’s a lot of yelling and hitting and cursing but in the end i get what i want…however i hate her. i don’t think u want that kind of relationship with your mom so just try to talk.

Me, no. but she still calls to make sure I’ve eaten three meals, brushed my teeth three times a day, remembered to change the oil in my car, etc. Whenever I make a colorful joke to my dad she gives me the stare only a mother has, and whenever I make bad decisions she is quick to yell at me and then help me out.

I moved out as soon as I turned 18 because I wasn’t even allowed to spend an overnight with friends. I was never allowed to go to parties or drive outside of town. My parents were very strict.

uhmm, yeah running away is a bad idea.
trust me.
i’ve tried it.
i don’t reccomend it.
you may not like your parents but your better off with a roof over your head then living on the streets.
