Using DBAN on an external hard drive

Hi, i would like to use DBAN on an external hard drive (160GB) , but I would like to know what I will have to do to the drive after using DBAN to allow windows to detect it. Will I have to use something like Fdisk to make a partition or format it as NTFS?
