There are alot of Kenau Reeves twitter pages, just googled it. Which one is real will be harder to ascertain.

Appointed means to be elected or to elect someone to something, i.e ‘John was appointed King of England’.

You realize that the actors have very little control over how the movie comes out, right? The director, writer, editors, special effects team, and so and so on down the line have far more to do with it. The actors just do as they’re told and say their lines. Besides, that was one of Keanu’s better roles. He has the emotional acting range of a brick, and they had him play a stoic alien. Hell, I’m surprised he wasn’t cast as Spock.
