How do I rank up in the Canadian Armed Reserve Forces?

I’m interested in joining them. I looked at the pay scales on their website, and they said as a Private/Recruit you make eighty dollars a day. I noticed that Corporal gets one-hundred-twenty dollars a day, and Master Corporal gets one-hundred-sixty dollars a day. Of course I want to get one-hundred-sixty dollars a day for myself, but I have no idea how they rank up. Is it determined by the amount of time you serve? Or do you have to do something like display exemplary behavior? Thank you for reading my question.

To advance/be promoted in the CF you must achieve qualifications and gain time in rank.

No matter your rank, by remaining in the CF you receive pay incentives. Private has 3 pay incentives: Basic, 1 year as Private, 2 years as Private, 3 years as Private.

These you get for staying in.

To be promoted from Private to Corporal (Reserve side) you must have been in for 2 years and have the following courses: BMQ (basic training), SQ (common army basics ie ground battle and weapons famil) and your trade (MOSID/military occupation) course QL3/DP1.

If you have good conduct, required time in the CF, and these courses you are eligible for promotion.

Master Corporals are leaders and supervisors. Many simply stay Corporal for their career as a choice.

A promotion to Master Corporal requires time in rank as Corporal as well as additional trades training (QL5/DP2) and leadership training (PLQ).
