computer help: My mouse cursor becomes invisible when it goes over the desktop. - Help.com

My mouse cursor becomes invisible when it goes over the desktop.

I am using Windows XP. This has only happened just recently (1-5 mins ago) and I cant seem to figure out the cause of this. The only time the mouse reappears is when it goes over an open application or an open folder.

Anyone know whats going on?

I don’t know /i>why /i> exactly it’s doing that, sometimes it does it on my desktop to (btw, I have Windows XP also). But I have an idea for you to help you not lose the cursor. Go to the Control Panel, and go into Printers & Other Hardware.
Then click on Mouse, and a new window pops up. In the Pointer Options tab of the new window, put a check-mark in the box next to “show the location of the cursor when I press the ctrl key”. Then click OK. Make your cursor do it’s disappearing act, and press ctrl and watch it do its thing!
