My GPA sucks.

I just finished junior year with a GPA of around a 2.8.
I guess I’m not going to college.

I’ve been on the swim team at my school for the past three years, and been on varsity since I was a freshman. I swim year round on a Y team, and I have a job as a lifeguard at my local Y. I also play an instrument, am actively involved in community service, and have two honors classes, Chemistry and Spanish.

Next year, I’m taking Honors Physics, and AP Government and Politics as a senior, and I scored a 1190 on my SATs out of 1600 math and verbal.

But really, what’s the point?

I don’t want to go to community college and transfer.
My parents want me to go to a 4 year college, that i’m going to stay at.

What college is going to accept a less than average grade like that? I think I screwed myself for life…

holy crap. You sound like a smart kid. How’d you manage to get a GPA like that?..but anyways, even if your GPA isn’t that great everything else you’ve done with the swim team and the AP classes. Well, thats the kinda stuff colleges kill for. Don’t know what else to tell you. Don’t give up? Work realll hard this year?

I’m lazy, and unmotivated… that’s my problem.
Colleges don’t care about senior year.
I’m applying in the fall..
so basically, I screwed myself.

umm honestly u’ll get into college grades are not all they look at and based on everything else looks like your good…and they do look at senior grades…some places revoke acceptences based on that so im shure u can make up a less then par jr year…
