Love help: My home - Help.com

My home

My home. Older homes constantly need upkeep and maintenance. Regular check-up and replacement of worn out materials help older home to survive the test of time. The attention and caring toward our home would lead to safe, healthy, and comfortable dwelling place.
These facts inspire me to give attention to my home. I could not, however, implement the deserved repairs to my home due to financial difficulty. This is the reason I took courage to seek the help of your generous for home repair. I am seeking $25,000.00 to start the repairs needed to allow me to age in place.
I have been a carpenter for 28 years. At 45, I work at Le Ca, receiving a salary of $2,000.00 a month. I pay a monthly mortgage of $930.00, plus other monthly expenses. With my current income, it is difficult for me to achieve my goals.
My home was built in 1960. It is a single family property with three bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, two levels, two detached car garage, and a garage that was converted into a family room. It sits on .999 acres of land. Since 1996, I have enjoyed living in my home. Presently, I live with my 11 year old son, Bill. He is currently in the 7th grade in Middle School. When I am at work, my mother watches over him.
As years pass by, many changes have taken place in my home. Being a carpenter, I know the importance of giving enough attention to damages that are present in one’s home. My home needs repair of roof, sidings, windows, and heating system to improve its appearance.
Any needed repair to the roof should be considered an emergency repair. Even a small leak, left untreated, could lead to serious water damage. The metal roof in our home has a lot of leaks that needed replacement to prevent water damage inside. Also, leaks would lead to mold formation, which is a threat to our health.
There are 12 single pane windows that should be replaced because they are already old. Same as the windows, the clapboard sidings are old and a lot of it are rotten. I wish to replace it with vinyl sidings that are energy efficient and durable. It would save a lot of energy to have the siding and windows done. This would, in turn, help cut down on bills in the future.
The heating system that is installed in our home is an oil furnace. I have no idea how old it is. Based on its physical appearance, the house and furnace maybe the same age. Last year, the furnace malfunctioned and I have to use woodstove all winter. I think it is a lot safer to replace it with an energy efficient type available in the market.
It would take about 45 days to finish all the repairs that would remove safety hazards, enhance appearance, and increase the value of our home.

Together with Bill, we look forward to your favorable response. We would be pleased to submit additional information that you may request. Please do not hesitate to contact us at the telephone number we have provided.

Thank you for your time and generosity.

I’ve known that graduation was coming for years, but it finally hit me on Sunday during the Senior Banquet that I will be saying my final goodbyes to Stephens as an undergrad student. As my friend was giving a wonderful speech and faculty members were toasting us, I realized that I wasn’t as excited to leave as I thought I was. I’m going to miss class with my friends, participating in the student organizations and, yes, maybe I will even miss group projects a little bit. So my advice is to cherish every horrible paper you have to finish and every class that you don’t want to attend because it’s going to go by faster than you want.

But on a happier note, I picked up my cap and gown yesterday and it’s strategically placed in my closet to avoid wrinkles. I’m not looking forward to wearing the cap; it ruins hair…and on such a special day! I guess life continues, right? I’m still trying to figure out what to wear. The shoes are a big decision.

Job search/networking update:
-I called an alum in Denver the other day and we’re going to grab lunch when I get to Colorado.
-I’ve been invited to attend a Rotary Club meeting.
-I’m hoping to get involved with the Chamber of Commerce where I’m moving. The Columbia Chamber of Commerce has an awesome program for emerging professionals, and I’m hoping I can get involved with something similar in Colorado. I should hear back from them this week.

Life update:
I’m headed to California at the end of this month for an offroad ladies only motorcycle training program. I’m super excited for that! It’s a few days of training and then a camping trip to test out our new skills. Too fun!

Off to grab some dinner. Until next time…

It’s raining.

It’s raining. And not the warm summer thunderstorm type of rain. This rain is the miserable, cold, depressing type of rain.

The weatherman on channel 13 said this is due to some type of storm coming in from the east. But lets be real. We all know that the actual reason it’s raining is because the weather somehow knows I have many exams and papers due this week and next and it’s insistent upon adding insult to injury.

I don’t know why the weather doesn’t like me. I mean, sure I complain about it a lot, but I appreciate it a lot too.

Maybe the weather just wants me all to itself, and gets upset when it sees me having fun outside with friends and frisbees.

Regardless of the reason, it’s still raining and I am still miserable.

While you prepare to leave for college people will always tell you to bring useful things like extension cords and printers and shower caddies. But what you actually need is an army of umbrellas.

One day it’s going to start thunder-storming while you’re already late for an exam and you’re not going to be able to find that umbrella you bought way back in July. So buy at least two umbrellas and keep them handy because the weather in columbus clearly ignores the rules of engagement.
