computer help: I’m trying to install a WD hard drive in my XP system. - Help.com

I’m trying to install a WD hard drive in my XP system.

The installer says it cannot install because I have GoBack installed. GoBack will not uninstall because it says my C: drive is running in MS-DOS compatibility mode. How do I get outof MS-DOS compatibility mode?
I can find the information for 98 and Me, but not for XP.
