Why did you come to Help.com?
Why are you here? How did you find this site? Has it actually helped you in anyway?
I personally was introduced to this site by a friend when I was going through some rough times, times are still rough for me but this site keeps me sane. I come here every night and help who I can, and i talk to my friends on here about things going on in my life. This site has helped me a lot!
And I want to know your story, has it helped you??

haha i love how everyone is being super straight forward with their answers lol
I googled help, and while I have yet to get a response to any of my posts, it does help to talk to others and try to help….somehow takes my mind off of what I’m feeling.

yeh i know wat ya mean, just typing it all out helps me
Well, I’ve been here a very long time. I originally came to rant about a lot of things that were bothering me, but I’ve found help in more ways than that. I’ve found friends, a short-lived but memorable romance, a place to laugh, a place to defend, and a place where I can cry if I need to, and people will actually care. Sure, it’s pretty much fallen apart over the last year or so as our admins have left, our mods have warred, and our users have changed… but it’s home. For me, at least, it’s the most stable home I’ve had the entire time I’ve been here, up until now. It’s helped me survive a lot, through dropping out of college, through being mugged, through nearly starving to death, through living in a building infested with bedbugs, through being betrayed and left with nothing by someone I would have died for, and then again, to a slightly lesser degree, being betrayed by someone else I truly cared for. I used to have insomnia, and devoted my nights to defending this site from trolls while the mods were away, by making the trolls attack me instead. I’ve saved lives here. I’ve bettered lives here. I don’t even care if I get a thank you, but when I do, it’s amazing.
So yeah. It’s helped me in more ways than I usually let on.
i came here after me and my girlfriend broke up and i had such a troubled time then. well th people here kept me togther and helped me fix things between me and my girlfriend. as of now we have been together for a year and 3 weeks. i get on here so i can repay my debt by helping others. plus i enjoy the idea behind this site.

very nice well thought out response : )
i googled “help” when i felt there was no answer. now, i luv everyone here! hehehe
PS. Xeno, I didn’t know this could be used as a dating site. Maybe you should be in an “eHarmony”-like commercial for help.com :)
you know help is such a real site. people make best friends, people even find romance, and people get mad and hate each other. i love it :] and i’m really glad i came back.
Jane, if CBS/CNET would pay me for it, I’d be all over that.
It wasn’t planned, though. It just sort of… happened. I was dealing with the loss of a very close friend and room mate, and a user who went by Snowflake offered to talk with me over the phone if I needed it. I decided to take her up on it, and we wound up talking for about eight hours a day, for the next month or two. It… continued from there. Very little of it actually occurred on the site.
I came across this site hoping that someone would help me with my relationship problem. It seemed like this site has alot of people that would be willing to help, so I just typed away.
Feeling depressed, lonely, and like I had no one and needed some help. So I typed help into google and ended up here. Haven’t been here long but I do like the site, and it feels good to talk about my problems to someone since don’t really have anyone to talk to and to feel like some people are actually listening.
i stumbled upon this site when i was looking for a recipe for a date with my girl. i often times like to just come on here and help people because there’s just something about helping someone else, even if you don’t know them, that makes me feel better. And with the way things have been going in my life, it doesn’t get much better. i’m a greed of betterness. I’m a greed of helping other people.
