I rarely dream, and I have often attributed this to my odd sleep habits.

Lately I have been having nightmares a lot. These nightmares will wake me up and make me unable to sleep in that room again for the night. I will move somewhere else and will often stare at the ceiling awake for at least an hour. Which sucks, because when school was still going I often woke at 2:30 or 3:00 in the morning and I get up at 5.

Can anyone tell me how to make the nightmares go away or even why they are happening now? I am a Sophmore in High school and the last and only time I have ever had a nightmare was 4th grade.

Anxiety has a grip on you and it’s expressing itself in your dreams.

The key is to accept that you have anxious feelings. You may not even realize it but you need to get in tune with your body to feel the tension that is always with you. Consider the stresses in your life. Think about how you are dealing with them…. are you repressing thoughts that make you anxious? They will still hide inside you and come out in your dreams. Better to express yourself, consider how to make plans to deal with your fears.

Vigorous exercise is great for working off stress and for tiring yourself out.
