hope help: I’m desperately close to a coffin of hope. - Help.com

I’m desperately close to a coffin of hope.

-Anna Nalick

Here’s the deal. I’m tired of crushed dreams and shattered hopes.
recently, I had a friend who was going to help me with a pretty large problem of mine, but it was to much and said person bailed.
I have seen each one of my aspirations demolished. From the fantasy to the real life scenarios.
I understand that religion plays a big part in hope for many people. But I need another reason. Why hope?
Thank you for your assistance

Hope is a lifeline, as long as you have hope you keep pushing. Hope is the belief that things are going to get better. Hope is the last thing standing when the rest of life crumbles. Don’t give up. Believe.

How?
Hope is a motivator, fueled by possibility.
What happens when possibility fades?
WHen doors begin to shut? and the only one opening is despair?

Then take a crowbar and smash some hole is the wall surrounding the doors. Possibility is everywhere. But most of it you have to make.

Where the heck am I supposed to get a crowbar?
Or the strength to do anything with it?
For the moment, should I do such a thing, I believe I would only hurt myself.
And some possibilities have more than closed doors blocking their path.

Then find new possibilities

Sounds like a plan.
Maybe I’ll find more open doors if I look for smaller ones.
Thank you. This will work for now.

If a door is closed, then another one will open. The door is closed for a reason. It was not meant to be. There is probably a door that is standing wide open right in front of you, and you are just not seeing it.
Life is just like that. Right now you may not understand why things are going this way, but there is a reason and you just have to have faith that it is for your higher good.

I think a primary problem is that my dreams are too large.
There will be no perfect world.
I am just a small piece to a large puzzle. There and necessary but hardly influential.
There’s no such thing as magic.
There is no one who’s going to come up to me and tutor me to become what I want to be.

I”m not one for specifics, but a general view of my problem:
I’m socially paranoid and I believe i have APD, even though haven’t been diagnosed.
I have…an unhappy past that I cannot remember almost at all. Lucky me.
There has been a personal issue I’ve been struggling with my entire life. I had a friend I trusted enough to tell, but in the end, they couldn’t help me. But we are still friends.
THis not specifically pertains to the recent crashing of many of my long held aspirations. Many due to intellectual discussions.

Wow. I can commiserate. I had a breakdown a couple of weeks ago over very similar things, and have been struggling with it for years.

My hope comes from looking around me and realizing that people have overcome much more. I also find solace in the fact that I know that I have a mental illness and I know that a large part of my distress can be traced to my condition….regardless of what friends and family think (all of them say it’s in my head, and I can just pray/wish/pull myself out of it). I use information like addicts use drugs, or religious people use God. It is my hope, and if I dig deep enough I can always find an exception to the rule.
