decorating advice

i just got my first apartment, 600 sq. ft.. i have a white down comforter, please tell me what color sheets to go with it, AND, how to decorate…cheaply. please!

Uplights and cool colors will make it seem a lot bigger than it really is. I’m a fan of painting furniture and picking up pieces off of the side of the road or at goodwill/yard sales.
