Don’t do anything that can land you in jail. Any relatives who will let you stay with them until you can get your life back on track?

Thanks but I wasn’t thinking along that track… no it’s just me. I have tried everything I can think of…this apartment is the only thing that has kept me going through this whole crisis. It’s the only thing I have left that is mine… i have no hope left without this place.

Self-Sufficiency Grants

“Modest Needs makes Self-Sufficiency Grants by remitting payment to a creditor for an expense on behalf of an otherwise self-sufficient individual or family for a relatively small, emergency expense which the individual or family could not have anticipated or prepared for.

In making a Self-Sufficiency Grant, our goal is to prevent an otherwise self-sufficient individual or family from entering the cycle of poverty as a result of the financial burden posed by a relatively small emergency expense.

Any qualified individual living in the United States or Canada may apply for a Self-Sufficiency grant. The maximum grant available under this program is either $1,000.00 or an amount equal to the amount of your monthly rental or mortgage payment, whichever is greater.”

Wishing you better days ahead -Aries.

Don’t think so negatively. I was recently evicted from my home, I loved that place. But life goes on. For whatever reason you are being evicted, it might be for the best. Dedicate your life to something else that’s achievable and try to keep a cheery perspective on things even when they look grim. Do you feel like talking about the situation your in? Maybe then I can offer more help or even just a listening ear if it gets it off your chest.

The thing is.. my bank account is negative and I have no where else to go. I have been looking for another job since May without success. I currently work part time from home but it’s only about $200. The collections calls are up to about 40 a day. I will seriously be living in my car with my 2 dogs and 3 cats ( which is by the way under review for repossesion) I have exactly $2.00 to my name at this very moment.

Ouch, you are in trouble. Any loans you can borrow from family? Anyone you know who can help you find work or look after your pets, so that if worst comes to worst you wont have to share a car with five animals.

Ok, let me start with this…

I was in my inal semster of nursing school but was having financial issues so I took on a 2nd job, transcription… then I started failing my class, so I wuit my 1st job in April..

So in the last 6 months I have lost my job of the last 5 years, and no I did not graduate on May 14 as planned, so now I have to wait a year and reapply which is now not likely to happen because I don’t have the money to pay my bills, much less my tution.. My credit is ruined, by bank account is as of today -655 just in overdraft fees, I have 2.00 to my name and the only thing I have left is this apartment, which I am about to lose.. everyday I get up and fight but I’m tired and am losing hope and faith… if I lose this apartment I have nothing left and no hope… I looked up the numebr for a suicide hotline tonight… i’m scared and sad and the only thing I want in this world is to keep my nice little farm house apartment and my animals.

You have tried local churches? I work at a small church, and in this economic climate we see this a lot. If there is any way we can help and the person asking is legitimately in need (and doesn’t ask for a living), then we do what we can. Most of the people asking are not members of our church, just members of the community in need.

I have called the local Salvation Army , whose number I got from United Way.. but can’t get anyone to call me back and right now I just don’t have the gas to get to the church.

I also have an ad on www.ineedfinancialhelp.net as well as digitlacharity.com.. I sent an email to everyone on in my addressbook letting them know I was having a fundraiser with only 2 replies…

I’ve called United Way

I spent countless hours on the internet searching for help… I’ve reached my limit.

Call them. Ask to speak with the pastor. Leave an urgent message if necessary. That is completely acceptable.

Also, I read a story where people were throwing “help me pay my rent” parties, and I don’t know about your friends, but I know that if one of mine called and said, I’m about to go under, can you help….I’d give them everything I could….even if, at the moment, its only $10.00. If you could get enough friends to help with anything they can, it might at least give you gas money to go out in search of better solutions.
