I have a Compaq Presario 2100 series laptop..
Model number 2114EA. The CD/DVD Writer drive in it is a QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-241, it has the latest firware from the manafacturer’s website flashed into it.
The problem I am having is buring any type of disc from the drive… The drive is reading discs of all type correctly, the burning software is SUPPOSEDLY burning the disc with no errors… But after completion the disc will not verify, also when I check the disc in my computer it is still blank and I can actully use the disc as a blank disc successfully on another computer.
What may the problem be? Could it just be a worn out laser for the burning process? I have cleaned the lens with a cotton bud with pure alcohol solution, it makes no difference.
The main reason I need to burn a disc is I have an image of my recovery disc on the laptop and I am unable to transfer it to my other computer as I have no LAN or flash drives available to do this.
Can anyone suggest a solution to my problem?
Thanks :)
Steven
