Child help: I have read a few posts about this and I feel the need to share my opinion. - Help.com

I have read a few posts about this and I feel the need to share my opinion.

I think if a child lost their hair from cancer they should be allowed to be donated a wig even if their parents don’t approve. It’s very sad that it’s illegal for that to happen. I read in my newspaper about a 15 year old girl who tried to commit suicide because she was balded by cancer and her parents wouldn’t let her get a wig. It’s just a hairpiece. Nothing bad can happen.

I don’t. Whatever happened to “my home my rules” It will only increase the loss of parental authority that seems to be taking place.

seriously! the kid’s going through hell and you’re worried about parental authority over something that might make it a little easier for the patient.

If that parental authority would be used to unreasonably deprive someone of some shred of dignity when they are already suffering enough then it deserves to be lost.

I’m also appalled that something like this is illegal. Doesn’t make any sense at all.
