torrents help: I’ve recently downloaded a torrent, but don’t know how to open it. - Help.com

Utorrent is a good torrent program (google it). You will need to learn about seed/leech ratio especially if you got the torrent from a forum.
Some torrents require you to be a member of a particular site. Also you will need to know how to bypass your firewall and create ports for u torrent
However most torrents from isohunt.com & mininova.org are leecher friendly.

you need a torrent opener. the above link is to the one I use.
It will take a while depending on the size of the files to download through the torrent.

Thank You everyone! Demonoid… thats what a friend set me up with, but on a different pc just a few wks b/4 I got new pc. And I would be very grateful for another code/acct. I am TRYING very hard to be patient with this new pc and windows vista! I’ve had this one up almost 4 wks. now. and finally got some of my older games, and progs. to work on it (vista) One of the hardest things was figuring out where/how to use “run” and system restore… I use to love limewire, but lately i been getting viruses, AND I ALWAYS check them before I open/use the file, and it says its ok, but a wk. or so later, it shows it has virus. And download.com is where I went, after I posted “help” Again, Thanx so much everyone!

hmmm? I’m not seeing my reply… But I was telling everyone Thank You for all your info. I find everything so much more coplicated with vista. But i’m getting it. run, search, and so many things are so very different. A friend set me up a demonoid acct a few wks. b/4 I got this new pc. So I had only used it 3x I don’t know if i wrote the codes down, so I’d love it if you could hook me up! I also recall something about utorrent, and am on my way there right now! Again, Thanx 2 all!
