My life is spiraling downwards…

and now I want to turn it around but I guess I keep thinking its too late and get depressed about it. Basically I would be happy if there was a way I could figure out what I wanna do with my life… go to school, join the military, get a job and work my way up… I DON’T KNOW!!! lol I suck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if its just, if you will, food for thought.

i hear ya. i keep having people asking me what i want to do when i get out of highschool. i hope i can get into college, but as for what career i want and what i want to do with my life i have absolutely no idea. I’ve kinda had an interest in being a police officer, but i’m not sure really. All i can tell ya is, keep your options open and keep in mind what hobbies or interests you have. just remember whenever you’re feeling down, there’s someone out there feeling worse, but able to cope with it (figuratively speaking). Maybe that’s a little mean, but it usually helps me a little. Best of luck.

I almost always keep my head up… but yeah thanks its much appreciated.

hey man wassup. i think i know what you’re talking about… like you’re just Not that interested bout anything right? well i figure that you wont ever wanna work..not me anyway as im **** lazy lol..but the thing is that you have to. so just choose something which will get you where you wanna be…like for example if you wanna get rich then…go to school to study for a job that pays well, or work your way up from something where you know theres loads of potential for growth. or if you wanna enjoy life and make enough just to live it the way ur comfortable with, then get a steady normal job to pay the bills so u can chill and watch the days go by, no worries. also consider the person you’ll become, as the kind of job you choose is gonna define the kinda life you lead, so keep that in mind. write out your options…look thru the papers..get some information from a college..get a part-time job in the meantime, at least…these are all practical things you could do to explore/expand your options. hope this helps somewhat. good luck to you..

hehe well…you will never know man. like..i decided to do dentistry…just cause it pays well..i mean like..people always ask me like…so do you like teeth? and i’m thinking like…who the hel l does dentistry cause they like teeth??? i just did it, because it pays well, and as you go thru something, and understand it, and practice it, and become better at it, you will inevitably come to like it. it Has to happen. the hard part is taking those first few steps committing yourself to a life your not sure is gonna turn out the way you imagine, and becoming good at it, but once you’re there, you will appreciate how far you’ve come even it’s just for all the sacrifices you’ve made to get there. just take it one day at a time, eg: stay on top of your studies…one semester at a time, eg: do well in your exams, and eventually years at a time: you find yourself graduating, and you’ve made something out of life. you gotta take those first steps, and i don’t mean any of this in a patronizing way, but stop thinking, and do something! your doubts and fears will always be beside you, but getting over them to get somewhere is just the beginning of whatever journey to whatever goal u wish to achieve.

Yea man I hear ya. I’m 24 too… I am a little worse shape. But I can give some advice on my colorful experience so far. I got out of school started college took so many I tro classes and never wanted to do really anything to be honest and the exact same fear you have about what ifits the wrong choice. So I finished up all the GERs for the university theb got all into partying got a DUI and lost my g/f of 5yrs do to irresponisbility. Took about 1.5 years to pull my head out of that mess. Good ****, been trying to fix everything since. And being 24 and all my friends are either gettingbetter jobs and /or starting families I realized that I need to pick my life up to. You get to a poo t where you have to make a decision make or break ya know…. It’s time to grow up finally. Don’t be scared of finding a career, go to college for something you enjoy don’t worry about the money for later. If you dread waking up in the morning what life is that. Also with all of your friends having g families and lives of there own now eventually your career will turn into your life. Find something you’re passionate about that you’re proud of doing. Also it doesn’t have to be a long term career unless you like it. It’s never to late to switch up. Who made the rules that you go to college for one career anyways andwho gave age limits to that. Don’t worry so much it could be worse, just take advantage of going back to school.

I didn’t even read searchings posts but exactly. I. On my phone so my typing and tboughtpattern isn’t the most fluent. But I forgot like for example I am interested in phylosophy, law, aviation, physical therapy. BA in philosophy I can finish in a 2 semesters and I really like law but the job market and studs t loans for attorneys seems difficult right now. But Air traffic control is an applied science degree 18monthes and they pay well and it’s in a lot of demand right now. You can retire in 10 yrs and afterlike 4 yrs make 6figures a year.

Now I put this down just to show you that we all think about the same stuff, you’re not alone but like searching was saying school is the answer and take each semester at a time. If you find a subject you’re passionate about I would suggest finding out how you can apply that in a career.
