Air conditioner 12,500 btu on a 120 circuit keeps blowing

every five minutes in a apartment .Can I buy a power cord to keep it on while using the computer or is the unit too much for the 120 line.

The air conditioner is supposed to be on a 20 amp circuit without any other appliance on that line. Hope this helps :-)
