So I kinda have a long story. I’ve been working with this guy Derek since last Fall. I thought he was a nice guy but was never interested in him. He has a friend John that I graduated high school with but didn’t really know him. John started texting me Febuary asking if I wanted to hang out with him and Derek sometime. I never really wanted to hang out with John becasue I didn’t know him well and he was a little socially awkward, so I made up excuses and we never hung out. But I could tell that John had a crush on me. In April I started getting a crush on Derek. We flirted at work but nothing else until May when he invited me over to his house to hang out after work. I did and John came over too. When I went home that night Derek walked me to my car and kissed me goodnight. John saw and told me he was a little upset about it and that he told Derek he liked me.

After that night Derek and I hung out alot, like almmost everyday. I went out with him and his friends, we went to the movies and to dinner. But 3 weeks later he had to leave for a job in Utah for a month. I knew he had to leave, he talked about it at work alot. He will be back in July and then leave again for Utah to go to school in August for the fall. During the last week he was here we slept together. Since he left we barely talked. We texted like once a week but thats it and I usually text first. I really like Derek and I thought he liked me too. Derek also had a girlfriend for the past 2 years. They broke up in November. Was i the rebound girl? I just think this whole situation was really weird. Why would Derek kiss me if he knew his friend John liked me? Was it a competition thing? Do guys actually do that? Derek never acted like he liked me too until John started asking me to hang out. Did Derek just use me for sex? Will he call when he gets back from Utah? How should I act when he gets back?
