How to keep an attention

Well, hard to start that. I’m quite confused man… one day I wanna have a gun, go through the streets and shoot the people, the other one I know that’s my destiny in proclaimig peace on the Earth. I sit on chair at my pc and compose really cool song. Actually, I did it just once, then I went to music shop, bought an irish whistle and learned to play it. When I was able to do that (and the Morrisons jig), I’ve lost the focus on everything about creating the music. One day I woke up and decided (don’t know the reason why) to get sanctified in reiki. Every of next days I spent an hour for working with these “ability”… for two months, and then - nothing, it just lost all meaning to me. This script was similar in case of tens, maybe hundreds of my other “hobbies”. It’s always amazing, but when I wake up next morning (and sometimes even earlier), it’s all gone. Only when it’s going about other people and not just me, I can keep my attention for longer time. With my girlfriend I’ve lived for almost four years now with no problem and I’ve kept my current job nearly the same time.

The problem is in my current studies. I decided for improving my education before a year and started to study on czech technical university concurrently with my job… but now I feel absolutely no interest in it. I finished my elementary and highschool, because I had to. I love to study in principle, but now I feel it as absolutely meaningless and I’d rather buy some oil colours, canvas and start to paint, even if I know I won’t do this longer than two or three weeks… So - do anyone have some advice for me? Thanks to all

You’re a wandering spirit. The only thing wrong with it is it brings no sense of satisfaction. Or maybe it does, at the time? If so, you’ll be a jack of all trades. Congrats on your girlfriend and job.. those are two things people have the hardest time keeping! So count your blessings and explore until you find something worth dedicating a lot of time to. Art sounds like a wonderful indulgence for a scattered mind.

auroranflans: Thanks for your support. But I’m in the conviction that some time later I’d like to study more and will be frustrated because of dropping the chance to get some higher degree and the opportunity to get apart in scientific research… Now it’s painful and disgusting, but I know this feeling will dissapear and then it will be much worse :/

Maybe you’re more goal oriented? Write down what reasons continuing with your studies will benefit you personally, what achievements you wish to reach, etc, and make it a step by step process instead of one big project or burden…? Maybe it’s like losing weight to some people.. you have to have short-term goals perhaps?

Your estimation is absolutely correct ;) I’ve to do it similar also at work, the task with one short submission I’ve to break down into tens of shorter events somewhere on paper or I’d never finish it. But there is no other way at work, I must to do it, so I do. With my studies it’s quite different, because it’s just my “hobby” and often I don’t dispose with such a will for creating these lists. I’ve discovered only one solution - to always persuade myself of the “fact”, that if I’m not going to sit down and write my list and start to study again, I’ll ruin my life, ruin other people’s lifes, die soon and in a terrible long-term pains, the world war 3 will begin etc… it works, because it gives me an illusion of necessity but as you certainly can imagine - it’s not very comfortable.

I can tell your heart’s in the right place:) It’s like over indulging in your favorite food or….herb…lol. A professional profile of skills help and we have to work to fund our playing. Volunteering with social groups or teaching helps a bit.

It’s a thing that works itself out buddy:) Traveling provides stimulus as well. Here the trend has been Harley’s and RV’s (Camping).

P.S. You need the degrees or certificates for later. Keep up the good work:)
