computer help: I have like a 5 or 6 year old laptop its an Hp pavilion ze2000 and it wont charge or start. - Help.com

I have like a 5 or 6 year old laptop its an Hp pavilion ze2000 and it wont charge or start.

I got it for free because of its problem. I had a computer guy look at it and he tried to fix it and the most he could get was a little light to start. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and they fixed it or what i can do with it. Any suggestions?

you can’t.
the power supply is embedded on the motherboard, all of it is.
with a problem like that theres a million things it MIGHT be. could be a bad battery, maybe a fried CPU or Chipset. but the fact that it’s not getting power sugests a bad acpi sytem. the only real way to fix it would be to replace the motherboard which is pretty much the entire computer, other than the drives and the keyboard and lcd screen. god only knows what it’ll cost, probably as much as the computer itself. you could try troubleshooting it but if you’ve allready taken it to a computer tech i’m sure hes’ tried all of that. if you don’t think the techy was smart try checking a few simple things like takinng the battery out and trying another stick of memory. somtimes bad RAM can cause that problem

i’d get either a dell or an HP,
haha if you want a 17″ you’ll expect to pay more than that for it.
might look into getting a refurbed system, they’re alot cheaper than new

You ever see that movie, Office Space? If you haven’t, watch it, then do the same to your laptop as what they did to the copy machine. This is also a well-known stress reliever.
