Will a white sauce mix will work well in a chicken pot pie?

I’ve got powdered white sauce mix here that thickens pretty well, and milk. I thought that maybe just adding a boullion cube or two, a little butter and some thyme and sage might do the trick. Any chicken pot pie lovers out there who’d like to let me know what you think? :)
