Contract Phones.

Hello, im totally totally new to contract phones, always been a pay as you go guy, but i text so much now im motering through about £40 a month.
My girlfriends got a contract for 17.50 a month with unlimited texts and unlim calls to orange people, thats BRILLIANT as in too good to be true. She says her phone was brand new and free too! a nokia 6700 or something, but she only got the deal becuase other places done better than orange’s original deal.
Now, if i take her along and tell orange about her deal, will they give me the same one? or am i gonna have to find a better one, thing is i need it on orange so i can unlimitedly call her too.
Somebody explain this to me lol, i have no idea of the contact concept to be fair.

Depends how long ago she got the contact, they can’t make up contracts on the spot, they have preset deals and extras they can give. It depends on how much calling/texting you do really, if you dont have many friends on orange its a pants deal, if you do then its good, SIM-only (Simplicity on O2) contacts are good cos you get more for your money and use your existing handset

From experience (I used to work for O2) people find that once they move onto contract from PAYG they will use more calls because they know they have the freedom to do so, also you can up your contract at any time but you can only decrease it after 6 months, 18 month contracts are quite standard now so don’t be afraid of them either
