I am really wanting to tryout for a college baseball

team but am too nervous to ask the coach, I am not one of those guys who just isn’t any good and wants to play… i think i could compete i just don’t know how to get over that initial fear of just asking for a tryout… What sould i do?????? The team is the North West Community College Rangers of Senatobia, Mississippi…. Can anyone help?

I think the coach will be impressed by your initiative if you just stop by his office and ask when tryouts are. Coaches look for leadership and moral integrity as well as playing skills, so the fact that you’ll have sought the team out yourself will say a lot for your character. Maybe you should try reading some inspirational books written by athletes? I’m willing to bet that some of them were in your situation at one point or another. No matter what happens, give it your all and you’ll have no regrets. As Michael Jorday always said “I can’t accept not trying.”

The point is this:

If you run away from tings because you might fail, your life will suck.

If you try, you won’t have regrets later and you’ll live a more interesting life.

If things don’t work out, try again, or find a way to improve or try a different direction.

But try. You’ll be much more confident in the end.
