In desperation I have typed into google, can somebody please lend me some money.
I found this page and hence I am here.
We desperately need to borrow £25,000 to have our house repaired. We bought our house 3 years ago and by some miracle got pregnant. We had to extend and hired a firm of builders last year who have wrecked our home. What they have built has all got to come down and be re-built, hence the plea for helping us find £25,000.
The catch 22 is that as we bought the house 3 years ago there is little equity in it, devalued further by what the builders have done. The roof and extension is not waterproof or even structurally sound and we have children. It has been failed by buildings regulations and our worse fears were confirmed by a quantity survey report. If we could re-build we can add a minimum of £60,000 to the value, could re-mortgage and pay off the loan to cover the rebuild.
If we can’t borrow this will take us years to save for and in the interim our house literally falls down around us. There are already signs of damp and water getting in. The builders are being taken to court and we will get all or at least some of our money back but in the interim we are living in chaos in a once beautiful house that has been reduced to being a wreck.
We have tried the banks, my payments are all up to date and I have no adverse credit but I am the only wage earner as our baby needs care which my partner provides. I am a professional earning a good salary but no-one will lend to me and the more I try, the more searches are done of my credit file and it reduces its score.
Can someone please help and advise? We are honest hard working people trying to find a solution and to keep our home which is the first one we have ever owned.
