Hi, - Help.com

Hi,

I have an HP G60-230US Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home Premium… I accidentally disabled the audio recording device of the computer and don’t know how to get it back… I don’t know if I actually deleted it or just disabled it… I tried going to “Control Panel/Hardware & Sound/Sound/Manage Audio Devices/Recording”… But it says: “No Audio Devices Are Installed”… I don’t know what to do…
Please Help!!!
Thanks in advanced!!!

Try right clicking on ‘my computer’ go to manage and check ‘device manager’ and check to see if there are any conflicts in the audio drivers.

If I do this… will my computer return to the factory settings??? Will I lose all the files created since then, like my pictures???

not if just run the driver disc

run the drivers

Just re-install the audio device driver.

Here’s the HP Link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/so…

You’re looking for the first download available: “Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 Driver”

Download it, install it, and then restart your computer. The microphone audio recorder should pop back up.

Good luck.

Thank you very much jbluther7!!!

That was the driver I need it…
The only problem is that when I go to the link you sent me & click on “Install Now”, I get a message that says: “Unable to fullfill your request at this time. Please try again later.”
If I click on “Download Only”, I get a message that says: “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”

Then, when I run a Windows Network Diagnostics on Diagnose Connection Problems…
And I get a message that says:
“The configured proxy server is not responding…
Windows found a problem that cannot be repaired automatically…”

I’ll try restarting the browser & the laptop just in case this is needed for the change to take effect, since I actually clicked on “Repair Problem”

I’ll let you know the outcome…

Thanks again!!!
