How long have you had your xbox? I’m just speculating, but maybe your console cannot recognize any game discs but only dvds.

Interesting. I’ve heard of this kind of thing happening to PS2’s a while back, might be the same issue. I’ll do a little research and see what I can find.

You have a weak lazer, common fault on xbox consoles, check on microsoft xbox service site if your still in warranty if you are they will repair for free by means of a courier collection repair and courier delivery, its all done online using your serial number. If your not in warranty plenty of places offer a lazer replacement service online, do a google. I replaced mine myself but i wouldn’t recommend unless you have electronics background or experience and required tools.

Good luck
Ps have a look on you tube “Xbox lazer” plenty of info

HEY that just happend to me about 6 mo ago, I took it in to this one place, they told me it couldn’t get fixed and then I went to another place two blocks down leaving my xbox360. about 1 week later it was fixed. It was the Laser the one that reads the disks. Mine didn’t want to play any games, but every once in a while it would be ok. I sent those guys a e-mail to thank them, they only charged me about $60 . I hope this helps, good luck find a person that knows what they are doing.
