There isn’t any sand actually in there. it’s just a picture.
Well obviously there’s no sand. everybody here knows it’s just a picture. but in response to your question, I don’t know! lemme see…no. The dots in the picture are stationary. I just checked. there’s 2 dots on the top and I’m pretty sure there’s 5 on the bottom. It’s interesting, maybe they’re trying to make you think it’s closer to being done than it actually is, since there’s alot more on the bottom than the top and that would mean it’s almost done…but now I’m getting all nerdy on you. bye,

well thanks sherlock, great decuction skills lol
in actuality it is moving. because the images you see on the monitor aren’t stable at all, in order for the display to work like its’ suposed to it has to be contsantly refreshing itself. the average crt monitor does this at 60 - 75 cylcles per second

Actualy most computers have silica in them, which is basicaly sand!
silicon* and yes it’s basically just highly compacted sand.
all electronic devices use it, it’s a semiconductor

Silica. Main ingredient in sand, silicon is a crystalline form of silica.

ok you win, lol
either way its a semiconductor. changes it’s physical properties to resit or conduct electric current
I like winning. LOL. Not realy, only when I know what I am talking about, which isn’t often.

lol, i’m guessing you have some job in the semiconductor business?

awesome, art is good, computers are my true passion, biochemistry? don’t understand it, travel? never left the country, can’t live without music.
When I said music I meant that I am a musician. And art is awsome. Why don’t you understand biochemistry?

oh, what do you play? i do piano, bout it
never been my best subject, i ran through it in highshcool but i was more into the math and phsyics dept.
Ahh. I play violin, cello, flute, viola, trumpet, guitar, piano, and drums.
I love physics. And the thought of absolute zero. !!! Biochem. is awsome!! The bacteria, we got to deal with ypestis once!

awesome!
do you have any perticular genre or all of them?
physics is the ****, but hows your knowledge on IT stuff?
explain what tcp/ip is lol
Clasical.
The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is one of the core protocols of the Internet Protocol Suite. TCP is one of the two original components, with Internet Protocol (IP), of the suite, so that the entire suite is commonly referred to as TCP/IP. Whereas IP handles lower-level transmissions from computer to computer as a message makes its way across the Internet, TCP operates at a higher level, concerned only with the two end systems, for example, a Web browser and a Web server. In particular, TCP provides reliable, ordered delivery of a stream of bytes from a program on one computer to another program on another computer. Besides the Web, other common applications of TCP include e-mail and file transfer. Among its other management tasks, TCP controls message size, the rate at which messages are exchanged, and network traffic congestion.
you so copied that from wikipedia haha, but correct.
your very intelligent for 14, where do you go to shcool at?

I fixed that on wikipedia, it said a bunch of wrong stuff.
thanks, Jackson Creek middle school, in bloomington IN.
TCP is a transport layer protocol used by applications that require guaranteed delivery. It is a sliding window protocol that provides handling for both timeouts and retransmissions.
TCP establishes a full duplex virtual connection between two endpoints. Each endpoint is defined by an IP address and a TCP port number. The operation of TCP is implemented as a finite state machine.
The byte stream is transfered in segments. The window size determines the number of bytes of data that can be sent before an acknowledgement from the receiver is necessary.

let me give you my initial thoughts on this post:
“wow, its most popular post…this had better be some metaphorical sh1t or something, because if its actually about the windows hourglass, ill be absolutely sure idiots have taken over help.com”

Ah, but is the Windows hourglass half empty or half full?
wait wait wait, hold up,
maybe you are using windows’s “animated hourglass” ?
lol
Wow, now that puts a whole new spin on things
(spin, geddit? har har har!)
Either or, the real questions hould be…Is it really half full or empty
this sounds like a fun post to get in on… salutations, everyone
well i use vista (he says looking UP at xp users) and there is no hourglass, just a blue doughnut that spins around…

I have it too, so is it really moving in a cirlce or is it stationary making it look like that?

has anyone ever noticed on internet explorer 6 whith the earth and the windows flag
microsoft dosen’t revolve around the earth, the earth revolves around microsoft hahaha
An Unknown Location | 4 months, 1 week ago (17 hours, 34 minutes after post)
and it’s actually half empty, if you look at it closely you’ll see the majority of the sand is at the bottom, like it’s saying it’s almost done or somthing lol

the circle’s either moving or a hidden light source if orbiting it…

stationary, and it is actually you that is spinning :P
InsertFishHere wrote:

Electrons are being spun around inside the circle and smashing together, similar to what happens inside the infamous Large Hadron Collider. These electrons, when smashed together, create a microscopic explosion that gives off an electric ‘rainbow light’ of sorts.
Nah, I’m totally screwing with you, it’s Vista. Vista does not break physics to be awesome, Vista breaks the laws of physics by the /catastrophic amount that it fails./

This. The default windows hourglass does, in fact, not move. However, other preset cursor schemes are animated. You can change them in Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mouse > Pointers then using the dropdown menu to look at the different schemes you have.
:)
hahaha agreed! whether your an xp user, a linux user or even a mac user you’re welcome to the party
but no vista allowed! :P

Love this topic :P Ah, the great philosophy of whether the sand is actually moving. hee hee
