How many CDs have you tried burning? Have you used different brands/types of CDs? Have you tried burning more than one type of file[s]? Is there a specific error report?

Tried about 10 blank cds recently. Memorex then changed to Sony rewritable cds. I tried to copy Word docs and itune musics. The process starts at the wizard stage then the message is: “:cannot complete cd writing wizard”. I think I was able to burn a word doc twice in the past year, but now I am getting this message all the time. :)

Just so you know, ‘itune musics’ won’t work on another computer anyway unless it’s authorized on the computer you pop the CD into. :p Unfortunately… that error could mean anything. The most likely possibility is that there is something very wrong with your burner. Believe it or not, I had a DVD burner/drive that read data, music, CDs, DVDs, everything, but it wouldn’t burn, just like yours. Even though it was almost completely new, for some reason the drive was just flat-out faulty. =/ I’d try reclaiming the warranty if you can. If you can’t, the second option would be to try to update your firmware if it doesn’t have the latest version. Of course, since such a very generic error can’t be pinned down… These are only suggestions. But coming from personal experience, I really think you just flatout need another burner.

I just happen to have an internal combo cd dvd drive with software that hasn’t been used. Hopefully it will work when I can get it installed. Your experience sounds like my situation. :)
