Is there an alternative to help.com?

It’s becoming more blatantly obvious that help.com isn’t doing it’s job. Instead, it’s becoming more and more of a social networking site and less of a “helping” website. Oh sure, there might be one or two genuinely helpful posts every once in a while, but for the most part, many threads are being neglected while the same ones are always filled with the same “advice”. Is there an alternative to help.com? One where the MAJORITY (keyword) of the users actually try to help others?

I dont see anything wrong with this site.. ya we lost a lot of our old features, but the community is still strong and full of caring people. Don’t be so quick to run give the people here a chance. What is it you need help with?

Gee, thank you Help Bot.

I concur with the OP of this thread. This site is just another feel good, bubble headed social networking site. Some folks are beyond being patient, beyond trying to help themselves and their families with what? Hope? Yeah, okay.

“Just wait, it’ll get better.”

Sorry, it never has and won’t ever get better. That is optimistic at this point. So yeah, thanks Help Bot for posting an 800 # to a suicide prevention line. Quite helpful indeed. Not.

Someone to just listen, huh?

Too complex?

Yeah. Whatever.

Well, I know the site started out as a computer help site. Then it became a general help site. The point being the site is called Help dot com, described on Google as a place to seek help. So, a person comes and asks for help. It’s not there, they’re told some issues are too complex, or you just need someone to listen.

If I thought merely talking could solve anything at this point, I’d be talking to a psychologist, not the internet. The site bills itself, as is shown by the Google description, as a site to find help. Why describe it as that, and offer that if there isn’t any?

Oh wait, that’s right this is the internet. We all just make snide remarks and laugh at those less fortunate. Sorry, forgot where I was for a moment.

In that case I recomment the experience project or daily strength.

Sorry if this place didn’t quite live up to your expectations. We aren’t exactly trained professionals or anything. We’re just ordinary people, complete strangers really, that are just trying to reach out to others. We can’t solve every problem and we can’t notice every post either. After all we have our own lives to lead as well.

Monica, I explain a bit better over on this post.

http://help.com/post/291419-the-story…

And not relaxing is part of the whole ball of wax with me. Really difficult to relax, to be more aloof. I’m working on it but it’s a gradual thing. I know there aren’t any magic wands. But I thought if your site was offering some bit of help, advice, maybe it’d be worth asking. So, when I asked the reply was an automated post back to a suicide hot line number.

And the reply in this thread was ‘oh it’s too complex’. Yes, I know life is that. Someone listening, helpful? Not really. I need solutions, guidance. Don’t need religion or politics, just some straight answers to questions like, can I borrow oh say half a mill to get out my family out of debt? Who would I work for to pay that back?

Can I get some form of medical, dental and vision benefits in a career? Notice I say career, not job.

Arkia,

Noted and understood. Apologies for reading too much into things, expecting.
