Hi, I’m not exactly sure what it is I need help with specifically, I just need to talk about this to someone.

A few months ago I was left by my girlfriend who I was in love with. It completely crushed me, and I stopped eating and couldn’t sleep and became quite ill. I decided that I couldn’t carry on like that, and tried to sort myself out a bit, and try and move on with my life. I have met my ex recently, and I don’t think I want her back, (though I still love her so much) because she has changed, and its different now. But I still feel empty, like nothing can fill the hole. Now, even months after, I still cry at night sometimes. I’ve tried seeing someone new, but its not filling the hole, even though I really like her. What do I do? Why am I crying?

Sometimes it does take time to get over someone you care deeply about. There’s nothing wrong with you there. When you feel like crying over it just try and think of what’s good in your life right now. Everything in your past has led up to your present, so if there’s things in your life that make you feel good, they’re probably only there because you broke up with this girl.

i agree with Dorian, time is the best you have got at the moment. i think you should saty with your new girl, she isnt filing the hole you feel because you havent fallen in love with her, but when you do you will feel much better. whenever i go through a breakup i try to keep my mind accupied, have you tried reading something that has nothing to do with love?? that always helps me. the worst you can do is sit around and start thinking about her, it will crush you. i hope this helps

Hey dude, I completely hear you, went through the exact same situation.. read my posts and replies thereto and they may help. All I can tell you is this will take time.. that empty feeling you are talking about, is the worst of all, after five/six months or so with my ex-gf it’s still there.. I personally think the solution to that is time as well and completely forgetting about your girl, I know it’s easier said than done!

And distractions. I really cannot stress enough the importance of keeping yourself busy, especially in the first couple of months

I know it’s hard trying to get over stuff like this. It’s very hard getting over these things. If she let you go then there’s nothing you can do about that. She wasn’t the one meant for you. Even though you still love her deeply, you shouldn’t try to remember about the past. Think of the things you like then Try to find someone like that.

hi, I was in a very similar situation. My ex-fiance and I were so in love and he broke up with me. Years later he found me on myspace because he just went pro football and he wanted me back because to him I was the only person he ever loved. I thought I was never going to see this man again and when I saw him it was love all over again. He changed in so many ways, but he was the past and if it was meant to be we would still be together. I know have a wonderful man with a beautiful child. I would be lying if I said that he will never have a place in my heart. There will always be that missing hole of “what if”, but i have a great family and am very happy.
