My mom wants to dye my hair blonde?

!
Well anyway, My mom decided she wanted to go find some baby pictures of me.. she found some and said i was so cute as a ‘toe head’. Now she is deeetreeemeend to convince me to bleach my lovely brown hair.
I think its a bad idea for my hair- since itll like kill it and what not.
Butttttttt, what do you think? Would it look bad or better than the brown? heres a pick of now (pleaseee dont say anything about my ’stuck your finger in an outlit’ doo)

Mabey try a non perminant dye that you can wash out if you decide you don’t like it. That will keep you’re mom happy but also if you don’t like it, you can go back to brown hair. Or mabey try on a blonde wig just to see how you would look in blonde hair.

I think you’re beautiful the way you are. And your mom should feel the same

Unfortunately, lighteners don’t come in temporary…and even the “temporary” darkeners are pretty persistent, I’ve found.

Stuff I would throw out there:

First and foremost, you’re lovely. I don’t think you need to stress too much about this, as I think you’ll remain lovely no matter what you decide to try.

The pro-blonde argument:
Life is short, and hair grows back. I am staunchly pro-experimentation. It can be really liberating to take a risk, especially on something that will grow out or can be dyed back.

It can be a good idea to mollify your mom on little stuff…if you give blonde a try to make her happy now, she may be more supportive if you feel like trying purple later.:)

You could save it for a fun mother’s day or birthday outing: “hey mom, how’s about we go get our hair done, and I’ll try blonde out for you?”

The anti-blonde argument:
Lightening is rough on your hair, and it doesn’t always go as light as you would hope (Mine just turned kinda orange:). I would say definitely spend the money for a salon rather than trying a bottle treatment.

Some things for some people are just not steps they’re comfortable taking, and that’s ok. You don’t have to apologise for that. If you feel like you’d be really devastated to look at yourself with a bad haircut, maybe this is not the risk for you. It’s like vegas…you only get in trouble if you make bets you can’t afford to lose.
