Help!

I have something called “ad supplied by bignetdaddy” that pops up on my computer! I’ve tried to remove it from my add/remove programs, but it’s still here! I hate this thing because it redirects me from the site I want to go to sometimes and generates annoying pop-up ads! I have a pop-up blocker, but apparently it’s being overriden somehow!

You might have some malware. A couple free tools are Avast Home and AdAware Free. Both, once run, will probably fix your computer. Try AdAware first.

AVG is a really good and free spam blocker/ virus scan software. I also like A2(a squared) you can get a free trial from many locations.

I think it blocks my attempt to access the sites to download the anti-spyware!

If it doesn’t, try http://tinyurl.com/mxme6h - that’s Avast.
Are you on Windows Vista or XP?

Well, from now on you should install some antivirus like Avast to keep your system clean - it’s what I use - and you shouldn’t have to worry about it.
You should also occasionally scan your computer using AdAware or Sbybot Search & Destroy.
This looks like a great site about viruses and malware - you can just skim over the articles if you want, but I would recommend reading it.

One word of warning: If you feel the need to pay for antivirus (you should not have to), and you really want to, do not buy McAfee or Norton’s. Get Eset smart security. It is easily the best antivirus/antimalware/firewall out there.

I still can’t seem to download Avast. I saved it to my desktop, but it says it can’t connect to the internet! This is like a bad practical joke! My computer tried to block my attempt to download this file with its pop-up blocker! What has it been doing while all of these ads from bignetdaddy have flooded my computer?

Try this.

1 Right click on the start button, then select “explore all users”
2 Find the “programs” folder, and open it.
3 look for bignetdaddy, try to delete it.
If it wont delete open the folder and delete 1 and 1 file until U just have 1 or 2 files left (these files do not want to get deleted)
4 restart The computer.
Repeat steps. Then these files migth be deleted.

If this don’t work follow the guide on this site
