life help: I think I’m starting to get depression. - Help.com

I think I’m starting to get depression.

I’m in a bad mood almost all of the time, and when I’m not it seems that I’m simply forgetting/ignoring it. I am becoming antisocial and snappy. I feel like there’s simply no hope. Usually, I’m a carefree person with good humour, but lately I’m getting more and more concerned about life, and it’s not looking good for me.

you know its not hard to get into them down moods. you should try sitting down and writing a list of all the things that are good in your life and the things that you do have to be grateful for. then try to focus on them things when your feeling down. you know we seem to never be able to see the good in our lives when some little thing gets us down. good luck and keep sharing your problems with us. it takes the power out of them when we get them off our chest.

Depression is difficult at the best of times .. the beginning of healing is just the realisation of having it in the first place. So your already heading in the right direction. Go see your doctor or phone one the the free support lines and talk it through with a professional. You may only be going through a one off rough patch and it might feel like you are suffering depression but it might not be either. But even if it isn’t…. it could turn into real depression if it continues. I live with it and it’s not easy. Best get it under control before it controls you.

Just make sure you keep this in mind before you dig yourself down into a hole:
You create your depression with your thoughts. Choose your own thoughts, don’t let anyone else choose them for you. You and you alone are responsible for how you feel.
