Smaller portions, walk every where. Snack on fruit.

the same way you get thinner in 2 years; diet (by which i mean eating the right food, not eating less food) and exercising more. bear in mind that if you loose weight too quickly it can be dangerous, and you are statistically more likely to put more weight back on very quickly.

Not wanting to be a bad influence but… skipping a few meals here and there goes a long way. Just don’t make it a habit =]

What’s it for? A wedding? Holiday?

it doesn’t help at all, that’s terrible advice. i don’t mean to offend you simbad but you couldn’t have said anything worse. encouraging people to not eat will not help them loose weight. not eating will just make you lethargic and unhealthy, if you are lethargic you will not be able to exercise which is the main way of loosing weight. and, as i have mentioned before, crash dieting has been repeatedly proven to cause yo-yo weight gain and loss, which means you will put on more weight and end up being heavier than you are now. do not skip meals, change your diet and exercise.

Well, I lost 56 lbs in 2 months. I’m not saying it’s great life advice, and I’m not gonna claim it’s 100% healthy, but it is effective. It’s just an option.

yeah but you are very likely to just put that weight back on, and the next time you’ll have to starve yourself even more. i’ve been there and it’s stupid, and advocating it to someone is even more stupid, and dangerous.

If it’s so important, sometimes, the ends justify the needs. And the weight doesn’t just go back on.

about 8 times out of 10 the weight does just go back on; it’s either that or you stay at a point where you don’t eat enough and get gradually less and less healthy. and the ends do not justify the means, how shallow do you have to be to think that sacrificing your long term health to loose (what can only be) a relatively small amount of weight quickly is worth it? it’s short sighted and (again) stupid. deeply stupid.

56lbs is not what I’d call a small amount of weight. And I don’t see where you get off insulting me like that. I’m not shallow or short-sighted. Maybe you are secure with your self-image, but we can’t all be so high and mighty all the time. If you have convictions about certain things, then that’s your problem, but you’ve no right to go all guns blazing and, in short, attack people’s suggestions and themselves when they’re trying to help. It’s just rude.

I lost over a stone just by stopping eating all the crap I used to eat between meals. Snack on fruit, eat balanced meals and exercise. Just getting out of the house more helps. Spicy foods like peppers tend to help your metabolism speed up. Never skip breakfast, people who eat breakfast (especially breakfast with protein such as eggs) are a LOT mor elikely to lose weight. Never eat when youre bored.

i’m not attacking you personally, however i am saying that your advice is short-sighted, because it ignores the long term implications. i’m not secure in my body image at all but that doesn’t give me the right to go onto a thread and give someone advice which (if they follow it) will cause them harm. i don’t mean to get personal but you are not in a position to give people advice about how to loose weight, as this quote from a thread you started shows,

“I have a really bad problem with this. I’m underweight for my age, and I can only eat one meal a day without getting a really guilty conscience, and when I do it’s like I almost can’t stop. I obsess over nutritional values and I try to eat under 700 calories a day. It’s been like this for about 6 months now and I’m getting thinner and more tired. I used to run all the time but I jsut don’t have the energy anylonger.”

i am sorry that you have an eating disorder, i have had eating problems myself in the past, which is why i would NEVER advocate to anyone that i should start skipping meals or not eating in order to loose weight. you yourself are the perfect example of how much of a downward spiral this can be, and it’s sad that you can’t seem to see that yourself.

yep! that and hit the gym, no pain no gain!. Eat 5-6 meals a day, small meals eg, a small bowl of soup with a apple, or a small salad, or a small bowl of seemed rice.

you can lose 5lbs monthly and remain healthy if you do it right. DONT SKIP MEALS EVER. When you skip meals your body freaks out and stores your next meal in your body as fat, your metabolism slows down and it becomes harder for you to lose weight. DONT i repeat DONT SKIP MEALS. Eat more often but smaller portions. Your body is like a furnus feed it often, dont over feed it and dont starve it. Keep the fire going at a steady pace. GOOD LUCK

Listen to her she speaks the truth! :O

trust me, eat 3 meals a day, snack on fruit, drink water and not juice and walk everywhere and you’ll shed the pounds.
