i think it’s ok to eat a lot after the gym. because you just had a rigorous workout your metabolism is quick during this period, allowing you a free pass to eat. i get really hungry too post-work out and it’s really difficult to avoid/ignore it. so i just make sure i make healthier choices. like whole wheat bread, fruits, a low fat smoothie (this really fills you up) and even dark chocolate.

Just look at the labels of food and just eat a single serving and you should be fine.

Try eating 6 times a day (small meals every 2 to 3 hours apart) and you will be left hungry often but it will keep your metabolism constantly going. Just be sure to eat a bit extra before working out so you have enough calories to give you energy for the workouts. Also try drinking some tea(green tea might be best) afterward, it has no calories and seems to make me feel a bit fuller.

Perfectly normal to be ravenous after a workout! Try keeping carrot sticks, celery, apples, whole grain bread around so you can grab it easily when you get home. Eat slowly and chew thoroughly, and you should benefit from both the workout And the eating! Peace.
