I have had a recurring dream for years.

Well today it got really violent. So I figured I would look it up to see if anyone else had these problems. Well there are several places that state it’s because of Trauma. I didn’t think I went through something all that traumatic, however I wiki it. I follow the exsact symptoms of someone still going throught trauma!? But I can’t identify what’s causing it.

Ummmmm It’s a more like a recurring nightmare I guess. I keep getting dragged off the bed I am sleeping on by a bunch of hands I can’t see. I been curious a few times so I wanted to see where they were dragging me so I didn’t fight back. They drag me in to darkness and the dream repeats it self.

I believe that dream is a sign of where u are with your life. It seems as if the darkness is hell… Thats where the hands is trying to take you… “Take my hand and let me lead you” Make a change in your life now. Don’t wait!

Can you please go into the dream that you’re talking about in as great a detail as you can. Please use as many vivid words that you can. (I saw you post what it’s about, but I need specificity!)

Also, please include the following information:

1) Age
2) Events occuring before the dream happened
3) How long, to the best estimated date you can imagine, the dream has been occuring
4) If there are any variations in the dream; and if so, what are they

This information will help me to interpret the dream and give you more detail.

Thanks,

-Andrew

I’ve also had a very similar recurring nightmares as nghtmrsk! It started about the age of 3 (before I could even remember, really), and went until I was about 11. In my dream, I was usually laying in my bed. Everything in the my bedroom was always exactly how I left it the night before. Something invisible would grab my legs and drag me around our house. I would try to scream, but I was physically unable to make a sound! Of course, after years I learned to just lay there and take it and eventually it would end. Sometimes, it would spin off from a completely regular dream. I once remember a version where I was sitting at my counter in the kitchen during the day, with a cat. Everything was fine, when suddenly the cats eyes grew very large and it hissed at me. Then it cut to the dragging around the house at night. I had learned little tricks to avoid setting off the nightmares in my regular dreams. It would always happen in dreams about my Grandma’s house, or in my parents bedroom. I had struggled with this nightmare for years and would like to know what was causing it. Any input anyone has would be greatly appreciated!
