I am thirty years old.

I am married and am a mother to two boys (4 and 6). I was a teacher until after I had my second son. I had severe pain that increased down my legs. To make a long story short I had back surgery when I was 17 from a fall and due to that and pregnancy and life I have several things wrong with my back that my doctors are listing under Lamnectomy Syndrome and Spinal Stenosis. I am in so much pain that I am on a great deal of strong medications that still don’t take all the pain away and unable to walk correctly and do anything but sit, lay and walk short distances. I went to doctor after doctor including the back research department of Duke. I finally accepted my doctors and families advice to go on disability. Due to my age I had to go to court to prove my problems. I have been approved for disability and am waiting for my paperwork and money. Last october my husband was laid off and is still desperately looking for one. My family is in debt from helping us keep our house, feed our kids, and pay water and electricity. They are unable to help with the house any more, so the bank has let us skip 3 payments in the hope I would get my money by now. My lawyer said we should have gotten the paperwork and money by now and that we are not the only ones they are taking a long time for. The bank just told us today that we have to pay $610.00 by August 1. That will be our reduced house payment. The vice president of the bank is our friend and if we can pay at least August’s payment we will be all right for 2 months after that and the money should be here by then from disability. I don’t want to loose my families house that we have had for 9 years. As soon as I get my money I am going to see what I can do to help other people get there money before they loose everything they had worked for. I am going to congress if I have to, people should not be treated this way and made to feel scared and worried while someone else has there money. I have to wait until I get my money in order to do this so I don’t make anyone in charge of my money mad and keep my paperwork longer! So to all those who help me I am going to pay it forward by pushing to make sure this stops happening. So many people loose everything before they get there money and people need to know and this needs to stop. Please help me your efforts won’t be ignored! The only thing that keeps me going is my belief in God. I know he is by my side. Thank you for any help you can give!

You both need to go to your local command labor and get some temp work. There people that are born disabled, deformed in wheel chairs but they have jobs so there is no reason that you cant work also. I doubt that anyone will be sending you any money so its up to you to get this done. Hope this helps :-)

I am sorry I must not have made myself very clear. There are very different ways to be disabled. If you were to see me you may not even notice that I am. I have a serious spinal condition that causes me to be in a tremendous amount of pain. When I make any movement the pain heightens. The doctors don’t know what to do for me. They have been researching and doing tests and surgeries for 4 years now. I am on the only pain killer that works on nerve pain. The medicine is very strong but still my pain is only lowered a small amount. If I do not take my meds my body reacts to the pain by going into the first two stages of cardiac arrest. My doctors are amazed at how high my pain tollerance is. I wish I could work, I really do. I was a great teacher and loved what I did. I had dreams for myself. I also have a double major in psychology so I never thought I would be here. I had to go to court for social security disability due to my age and that it is a pain disability. The judge was amazed at my situation and instead of making me wait for his decision he told me right there that he was siding on my behalf and said sorry that I have had to wait 3 years for my trial. I am now waiting for my paperwork so I can get my benefits. They go back 4 years. Imagine trying to raise 2 children and you were on a 2 income household then unexpectedly become unabled to work after your matternity leave then trying to live almost 5 years on one income and credit cards waiting for your benefits then have your husband laid off from his job when the economy is going through problems. My husband is trying desperately to find a job. He has gone to the labor board and many other places. He spends several hours a day looking for a job. In the mean time we are also praying that my benefits come soon like my lawyer said they should already be in my hand. Imagine being in this situation and hurting like you would not believe, be two weeks away from loosing your house, a lawyer saying that your 6 figure check should already be here it’s coming, look at your two little boys and wonder how to explain to them why they will leave there house and then some one like you leaves you message like you did. All your message showed was your ignorance of disabilities. Maybe you should not be offering people help until you get some for your uninteligence! And for your doubt you never know. God works in mysterious ways! All I can do is sit and wait so I figured I would try something that I would never do and I don’t think this internet thing will work, but at least I tried! I feel so sorry for you. I will pray for you.
